Wonadem UBA Foundation Celebrates Love At Serwaa Makafui's Wedding As She Was Joined In Holy Matrimony With Stanley Defia

Love filled the air at Exhibition Assemblies of God Church, Dansoman, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as members of Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) joined family and friends to celebrate the wedding of our dear sister, Serwaa Makafui, as she said "I do" to Stanley Defia.

Members of the Foundation arrived early. The first 6 were in the church by 10:20 AM, ready to welcome the rest. By 12:00 PM, the church service began with heartfelt song ministration and praise led by the host church. At 12:30 PM, all eyes turned as the beautiful bride was ushered in.

Rev. Emmanuel, one of the pastors of the host church, delivered a powerful 10-minute sermon before inviting the couple forward. The Senior Pastor then officiated the sacred exchange of vows. As the couple signed their marriage certificate, the congregation demonstrated love through a special offering to support them in their new journey.

After signing, Mr. and Mrs. Defia returned with joy for their first dance, surrounded by praise and prayers. Various pastors present committed the marriage into the hands of God Almighty. The church service concluded around 1:40 PM with a closing prayer and benediction, followed by a joyful photo session where WUBAF members proudly participated.

The reception followed shortly on the same premises. With a musical interlude, the bridal party — bridesmaids and groomsmen — made a grand dance entry, followed by the radiant couple. Sis. Deborah Adjei opened the reception with prayer.

After the chairperson’s introduction and acceptance speech, guests were treated to a lively couple's game involving the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Music and refreshment followed.

A special highlight was the Borborbor performance by WUBAF. The Foundation was given 10 minutes to showcase the beautiful Ewe cultural dance, and they performed with energy and pride. Though a second performance was cut short due to a drummer’s challenge, the atmosphere remained joyful. Guests began to depart a few minutes before 5:00 PM.

In Demonstration of Our Values, Mr. Edward Fiawoyife generously contributed an undisclosed amount of money to help pay the trumpeter.

The Zonal Overseer for Accra Zone, Seth Kwaku Besah, took care of transport from Botwe to Dansoman. Mr. Marcus Golomeke also volunteered his car to return the drums to Botwe, while Mr. Elikem Dravie assisted with packing and ensured all items got home safely.

18 members and 4 children from the Foundation were present to support the couple on their special day. We are grateful to God that all members reached home safely after the ceremony. Thanks to our Founder & CEO, SIR UBA, for his continuous prayers towards members' safety before, during and after every event.

To Serwaa and her husband, we say congratulations. We pray that the Lord establishes your home, fills it with love, peace, and laughter, and that your marriage will be a testimony to God’s glory.
