Arise

ARISE !

The sleeping lion stirs, with a rumble deep inside,

A slumber broken, as the sun begins to ride.

The river’s course is set, its purpose to the sea,

Yet whispers on the bank, of stagnancy we see.

"A journey starts with stepping," the elders always say,

But if the path remains un-trod, how will we reach the bay?

The fertile soil is waiting, for the seeds to take their root,

But harvests will not flourish, if no one sows the loot.

The pot upon the hearth, awaits the warming flame,

But if the wood remains un-stacked, the meal will be a shame.

"The early bird gets the worm," a saying sharp and keen,

But if the bird remains in slumber, no feast will be seen.

The wellspring overflows, with blessings held in store,

But if no bucket dips in deep, the treasures we deplore.

"A stitch in time saves nine," a lesson to be learned,

But if the needle stays unwoven, no purpose it has earned.

The drum lies silent, still, awaiting hands to play,

But music will not resonate, until we find our way.

The needs are ever present, a chorus, soft and low,

Yet funds lie dormant, where growth is meant to grow.

"A single tree cannot make a forest," each must find their stride,

To work with purpose, and a spirit deep inside.

The time for talk has faded, now action takes the lead,

To bring the dormant purpose, to fulfil the urgent need.

So let the winds of change blow, across the sleeping mind,

Let dormant dreams awaken, the path to purpose find.

Arise, and seize the moment, the time to act is now,

And let the fruits of labor, upon our branches bow.

For our welfare to meet our needs,

There should be planting of seeds.
