A child's cry, a roadside tear,
A tiny sound, yet filled with fear.
A chapeau of questions, a puzzling array,
What compels this sorrow, what lights this day?
Is it hunger's pang, a stomach's plea,
Or pain's sharp whisper, for all to see?
A lost toy's absence, a simple, fleeting woe,
Or deeper shadows, that only children know?
Joy's exuberant outburst, a laughter's sweet sound,
Or tears of frustration, on hallowed ground?
The puzzle unfolds, a mystery untold,
In the depths of a small heart, both brave and bold.
My role in this moment, a question takes flight,
Can I offer comfort, and set things right?
Should I reach out a hand, and offer my aid,
Or simply walk onward, in shadows unmade?
My actions and inactions, a path to pursue,
A choice to be made, for me and for you.
For the echoes of silence, in this heart so small,
Will shape the world's future, beyond this wall.
So let us consider, what this cry may impart,
The wisdom of innocence, close to the heart.
Let kindness be our compass, empathy our guide,
In the depths of a child's cry, let love preside.
