
Wonadem UBA Foundation, also known as WUBAF, is a
non-profit, non-denominational and non-governmental organization established in
2020 by Edem Edem Michael Forgive UBA Akpeleasi, popularly known as Sir UBA.
The foundation's roots, however, stretch back to 2012 when Sir UBA, then a
teacher in Kedjebi, Volta Region, Ghana, began supporting underprivileged
pupils with his own resources.
The main purpose or mission of the Foundation is to
support the poor, orphans, drug addicts, aged, and widows in Ghana and beyond.
The Foundation focuses on education, healthcare,
livelihood empowerment, and community development. Over the years, Wonadem UBA
Foundation has been empowering lives in so many ways and putting smiles on the
faces of those who needed it the most. Wonadem UBA Foundation has organized
outreach programs, provided medical support, paid school fees, and offered
skill training sessions for youth and women.
Since the inception of Wonadem UBA Foundation, it has
organized both mini and Mega outreaches in various communities, and Lolito
which happened to be the Head office of the foundation, was the first community
the foundation celebrated its first Mega outreach in 2021.
Apart from Lolito, some other communities that
benefited from these outreaches include, Anlo-Afiadenyigba, Weta-Adidome,
Sunyani Yamfo, Dzokplenu, Logba Alakpeti, Breman Asabiem among others.
Among the many notable achievements of Wonadem UBA
Foundation, WUBAF in 2022 donated educational materials such as, textbooks,
jerseys, and balls to Lolito Primary School and Nyinuto J.H.S.
The Foundation also provided some food items to widows
in Esereso Odumase, in the Bono Region. From 2020 through to 2026, the Foundationâs
achievements demonstrate its commitment to supporting and impacting communities
and individuals in need.
As a result of
these achievements, the foundation envisioned a world filled with true love and
kindness, free from discrimination, where resources and basic needs are
distributed fairly.
In 2025, A special mini outreach was organized on
March 24, 2025, to mark the Founder and CEO'S Birthday and as well as to
celebrate him for his good works over the years. This mini outreach was
celebrated at the zonal level, where the various zones made special donations
to some hospitals in their localities. Hospitals that benefited from this mini
outreach include, Lekma Hospital at Accra Teshie, koforidua Polyclinic, Dabala
clinic, Jasikan District Hospital, Effia Nkwanta-Sekondi, Sunyani Municipal
Hospital,Ketu South Municipal Hospital, Ho Municipal Hospital among many
others.
Meanwhile, the Foundation also donated items including
rice, eggs, and cooking oil to widows in Lolito during the Christmas, and
attended its end-of-year Mega outreach program at Breman Asabiem, in the
Central Region of Ghana. During the outreach, the community members shared fun
memories of the Founder and CEO of Wonadem UBA Foundation, SIR UBA.
As some expressed their gratitude to SIR UBA for
making a positive impact in the lives of their children and themselves, others
also shared the sweet but fun songs taught them by SIR UBA. The foundation
members dined with the community on the Durbar Day as a form of showing them
love and fostering community spirit.
Some items like, educational materials, clothes,
shoes, pads among others were distributed to the Asabiem community members
while a cash amount of GHS 11,112 was raised to support their community center
project.
As WUBAF celebrates 6 years on February 21, 2026, its
achievements over the years serves as a testament to their dedication to
community service and empowerment.
As part of Wonadem UBA Foundation's 6-year celebration
with the theme, 6 years of love, care, and comfort. the Foundation has launched
a project called, the 6GHS Project, which aims at raising some funds to support
Mampong D/A Basic School at Shai Hills in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
