WUBAF Stands in Solidarity with Member Maxwell Aho During His Mother's Funeral

The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to compassion, unity, and family by sending a strong delegation to Mafi Adakpo to support Mr. Maxwell Aho during the funeral of his beloved mother, the late Madam Grace Aho.

The delegation, comprising 32 members from eight zones, represented the foundation with dignity and dedication. Although 39 members had initially confirmed attendance, seven were unable to participate due to circumstances beyond their control. Two toddlers also accompanied members, reflecting the family-oriented spirit that defines WUBAF.

Members began arriving in Mafi Adakpo from Thursday, 18th June through Sunday, 21st June 2026, with everyone traveling safely and arriving on schedule. The event recorded no travel or safety incidents, underscoring the discipline and careful planning of the foundation.

The day's activities commenced with early preparations led by Mr. and Mrs. Zormelo, who assisted the bereaved family with arrangements before the arrival of the rest of the delegation. Although the church service was rescheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to allow the Agei Association to complete traditional rites, the additional time was put to good use as members rehearsed and shared breakfast generously provided by the host family.

At the funeral grounds, WUBAF members actively participated in the service through singing, worship, and other expressions of support. During the programme, the foundation's Public Relations Officer, Ms. Love Afanou, briefly introduced WUBAF, highlighting its vision of promoting love, unity, and community service.

One of the day's defining moments came during the sermon when language interpretation became challenging. Demonstrating remarkable leadership and presence of mind, Mr. Desmond K. Ati stepped in to interpret seamlessly, ensuring the message reached the congregation effectively. His timely intervention earned admiration from both the church leadership and attendees, reflecting the wealth of talent and leadership within WUBAF.

Following the church service, members gathered at a nearby school where the WUBAF Catering Department served a well-prepared meal. The lunch session also provided an opportunity for members to network and strengthen relationships under the guidance of Ms. Love Afanou.

In a touching display of generosity and solidarity, representatives from the Ho Zone presented a voluntary cash donation to Mr. Maxwell Aho to assist with funeral expenses. Deeply moved by the gesture, Mr. Aho expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, as well as the entire WUBAF family, for their unwavering support. He further showed his gratitude by providing refreshments for all members.

The official programme concluded with a closing prayer at 3:15 p.m., after which members departed safely to their respective destinations. Mr. Saviour Gokah was the last delegate to arrive home on Saturday night, while Mr. and Mrs. Zormelo remained behind to assist with the final pack-up before returning home safely on Sunday evening.

Beyond supporting one of its own, WUBAF's presence at the funeral served as a powerful demonstration of its core values of compassion, service, discipline, and togetherness. The successful coordination of the delegation, the excellent work of the Catering Department, the professionalism displayed throughout the event, and the outstanding leadership shown by members all reflected the strength of the foundation's mission.

The Office of the General Organizers expressed sincere appreciation to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for his continuous prayers, guidance, and unwavering support, which contributed significantly to the success and safety of the delegation. The office also commended all 32 members who sacrificed their time and resources to represent WUBAF with honor and distinction.

As always, WUBAF continues to prove that it is more than an organization—it is a family that stands together in both moments of celebration and times of grief, embodying its enduring commitment to love, care, and community.
