WUBAF Brings Hope to Vida Dogbey with the Donation of a Brand-New Wheelchair in Asante Village

Asante Village, Doboro - 27th June 2026

The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF), in collaboration with the Uncovered Platform and through the generous support of Oracle Sir UBA, once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to transforming lives by donating a brand-new wheelchair to Ms. Vida Dogbey, a physically challenged resident of Asante Village in Doboro.

The humanitarian outreach, held on Saturday, 27th June 2026, formed part of the Dark Moon Sacrifice initiative—a programme dedicated to extending love, care, and practical support to vulnerable individuals within society.

The five-member delegation, led by Mr. Eccles Atandzi and comprising Bliss Agordekpe, Celestine Draffor, Queen Kunugbe, and Augustina Ebo, arrived in Doboro at exactly 10:00 a.m. The team was warmly received by Mr. Amegbor, the uncle and guardian of Ms. Vida Dogbey, who escorted them to her residence in Asante Village.

During the brief gathering, Mr. Bliss Agordekpe served as the spokesperson, while Mr. Eccles Atandzi officially welcomed the family and explained the purpose of the visit. He conveyed the heartfelt greetings of WUBAF and reaffirmed the foundation's commitment to standing with those facing life's greatest challenges.

The delegation was deeply moved as Mr. Amegbor shared Vida's inspiring yet heartbreaking story. Several years ago, while conducting her daily business near the Lands Commission in Accra, she was involved in a tragic road accident when a vehicle crashed into her, trapping her between two vehicles. The devastating incident resulted in the amputation of both her legs.

The first amputation was covered through the driver's third-party insurance. Unfortunately, complications later developed in the second leg, which became swollen, numb, and severely infected, eventually requiring a second amputation. This procedure was also financed through the same insurance policy, with no additional compensation received.

Since the passing of her father, Mr. Amegbor has taken on the responsibility of caring for her. Despite the many challenges she has faced, Vida has remained resilient and hopeful while also supporting her 19-year-old daughter, who is currently pursuing her secondary school education.

As part of the donation ceremony, the WUBAF team carefully assembled and fitted the brand-new wheelchair before officially presenting it to Vida to ensure it was immediately ready for use. In addition to the wheelchair, the foundation also provided an undisclosed cash donation to help support her immediate personal needs.

The presentation was marked by genuine emotion as Vida received the gifts with heartfelt gratitude. Her smile reflected renewed hope and appreciation, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. Members of the delegation shared moments with the family through photographs before the programme concluded with a prayer led by Ms. Celestine Draffor.

Beyond the primary donation, the outreach also reflected the generosity of Oracle Sir UBA, who provided financial support to cover the transportation costs of the delegation and pleasantly surprised Mr. Amegbor with the gift of a brand-new mobile phone in recognition of his selfless care and dedication to his niece over the years.

The successful outreach once again highlighted the power of compassion, unity, and service. Through initiatives such as the Dark Moon Sacrifice, WUBAF continues to restore hope, ease burdens, and make meaningful differences in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families.

The foundation expresses its profound gratitude to the special grace of Great Gosuba, Oracle Sir UBA, the Uncovered Platform, and every individual whose generosity made this life-changing intervention possible.
