Report On 2026 Mini Outreach Held At Mampong D/A Basic School, Shai Hills

Introduction

The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) successfully organized its 2026@6 Mini Outreach at Mampong Shai D/A Basic School as part of its continuous commitment to community development, education, and social impact.

The outreach aimed at supporting the school through donations, engaging students in educational and cultural activities, strengthening the relationship between the Foundation and the community, as well as handing over the first phase of the renovation project of Mampong D/A Basic School.

The program was well attended by WUBAF members from all zones, school authorities, community leaders, and students, making it a memorable and impactful event.

Arrival and Welcome

The program commenced with the arrival of WUBAF members and invited guests at 11:00 AM.

The Master of Ceremony, Ms. Love Afanou, warmly welcomed everyone and introduced the purpose of the gathering. She also introduced dignitaries present, followed by the rendition of the WUBAF anthem. Her opening remarks set a positive tone for the day and highlighted the Foundation’s mission.

As part of the celebration, the outreach also marked the birthday of the Founder and CEO of WUBAF in a person of Mr. Edem Edem Michael Forgive UBA Akpeleasi. A Happy Birthday song was joyfully sung in his honor to celebrate and wish him well.

Remarks from School Authorities

Representatives from the school, including members of the PTA and staff, delivered remarks expressing their heartfelt appreciation to WUBAF for taking the initiative to renovate their school, beginning with the KG block.

They emphasized the importance of such interventions in improving teaching and learning conditions and encouraged students to make good use of the support provided.

Donor’s Speech

The donor’s speech was delivered by Prof. Seyram Kawor, who shared inspiring words about the importance of education and giving back to society.

He encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies and assured them that their future is bright if they remain disciplined and committed.

He further called on stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, PTA, SMC , teaching and non-teaching staff to collaborate and support the initiative, emphasizing that collective effort is key to sustaining the project.

Recognition of Project Team Leaders

Before the cultural display, a special recognition segment was held to honor the Project Team Leaders who played a vital role in the successful execution of the renovation project.

These individuals were presented with citations in appreciation of their hard work, commitment, and selfless dedication towards the project.

The recognized team leaders are:

1.       Mr. Emmanuel Doga

2.       Mr. Freeman Ahiankui

3.       Mr. Gordon MacCarthy

4.       Mr. Emmanuel Norvor (Torgbui Norvor III)

5.       Mr. Seth Besah

Their tireless efforts, leadership, and willingness to go the extra mile significantly contributed to the successful completion of the first phase of the renovation.

WUBAF deeply appreciates their sacrifices and commitment to service, which truly reflect the Foundation’s core values.

Students’ Cultural Display

One of the highlights of the program was a captivating cultural and spoken word performance by the students, including a poetry recital by Ivanna Woelly Akplor.

The performance showcased the talents, creativity, and confidence of the students and was met with loud applause from the audience. It added color and excitement to the event and beautifully graced the occasion.

Unveiling and Handing Over Ceremony

The official unveiling and handing over of the renovated facility and donated items were conducted by WUBAF Executives, together with school authorities and community leaders. The ceremony was led by the General Overseer, Prof. Seyram Kawor.

This symbolic gesture marked the Foundation’s commitment to supporting education and improving the learning environment of the school.

Appreciation Segment

A brief appreciation session was held, led by the headmaster, invited guests, and parents, to recognize WUBAF for their outstanding efforts and dedication.

The headmaster noted that initially, the project was perceived with doubt due to past experiences with unfulfilled promises from other organizations. However, WUBAF proved to be different by successfully delivering on its commitment.

This moment reinforced the importance of trust, dedication, and genuine service.

Group Photograph and Facility Tour

Participants took group photographs to capture memorable moments, led by the Media Team. The event was also streamed live on Facebook, allowing those who could not attend to be part of the experience.

This was followed by a guided tour of the school facilities, giving members the opportunity to assess the impact of their contribution and identify areas for future support.

Refreshment

The WUBAF Catering Department ensured that refreshments were served to all participants, creating an atmosphere of unity, interaction, and celebration among members, students, and guests.

Clean-Up and Departure

The program concluded at 1:00 PM with a clean-up exercise, demonstrating responsibility and respect for the environment.

WUBAF members then departed peacefully around 2:00pm, marking the end of a successful and impactful outreach.

Impact of the Outreach

The outreach achieved the following:

•         Successful handing over of the first phase of the school renovation project.

•         Strengthened the relationship between WUBAF and the Mampong Shai community

•         Boosted morale among students and teachers

•         Promoted education and community engagement

•         Reinforced the Foundation’s commitment to service and humanity

The WUBAF 2026@6 Mini Outreach at Mampong Shai D/A Basic School was a great success. It reflected the Foundation’s unwavering dedication to making a difference in communities through love, care, and compassion.
