The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) joined family members, friends, mourners, and sympathizers on Saturday, 8th August 2026, at Akatsi-Atorkorkorfe to pay its last respects to Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor, the beloved father of Mr. Saviour Atorkor, a valued member of the Foundation.

The Foundation’s participation reflected WUBAF’s commitment to standing with its members and their families during both joyful and difficult moments, in keeping with its guiding principle: “We Love, We Care, We Comfort.”

WUBAF members began arriving at the funeral grounds as early as 7:00 a.m., with members continuing to join the gathering until approximately 11:00 a.m.

The church service commenced at about 9:00 a.m. and was characterized by solemnity, prayer, music, tributes, and reflections on the life and legacy of the deceased.

A special moment was observed for family members, friends, and well-wishers to pay their last respects to Mr. Atorkor. Invited guests were also introduced before the reading of Scripture set the tone for the remainder of the service.

The biography of Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor was subsequently read by representatives of the family, highlighting the various stages of his life and the legacy he leaves behind. The presentation reflected his values, family life, service, and the relationships he built throughout his lifetime.

The WUBAF Brass Band led the offertory with a solemn and melodious ministration, contributing to the reverent atmosphere of the service.

A sermon was delivered by the church pastor, followed by a special prayer for the bereaved family and all those mourning the loss.

As a demonstration of solidarity with their colleague and his family, WUBAF was called upon to perform during the service. Members responded with a heartfelt presentation, reaffirming the Foundation’s presence and support for the Atorkor family during this difficult period.

The church service officially concluded at 1:20 p.m.

Following the church service, WUBAF members joined other mourners for refreshments and fellowship. The gathering provided an opportunity for members, family, friends, and sympathizers to interact, share memories, and strengthen bonds of unity and support.

As part of the day's activities, WUBAF led a Borborbor performance, providing a vibrant cultural tribute in honor of the departed. The performance celebrated the life of Mr. Atorkor while bringing moments of cultural expression and togetherness to the gathering.

The day's activities officially came to an end at 4:20 p.m. with a final prayer led by Love Afanu, after which members, family, and other guests departed.

The presence and active participation of WUBAF at the funeral demonstrated the Foundation's unwavering commitment to its members. Beyond its various developmental and humanitarian activities, WUBAF continues to recognize the importance of standing beside its members and their families in times of bereavement.
