The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF), through its Ho
Zone, has reaffirmed its commitment to education, youth empowerment, and
community development through the donation of jerseys and footballs to Akrofu
Agorve M.A. Junior High School in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The donation exercise took place on 14th May 2026 and
formed part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support young people by
promoting sports, teamwork, discipline, and personal development within
educational institutions.
The Ho Zone delegation arrived at the school at 9:45
a.m. and received a warm welcome from school authorities, students, and invited
guests. The school community assembled for the official presentation ceremony,
creating an atmosphere of excitement and appreciation.
The program officially commenced at 10:15 a.m. with an
opening prayer led by Rev. Abraham Tsakpo. School authorities, community
leaders, and invited guests were subsequently introduced, setting the stage for
a successful engagement between the Foundation and the school community.
As part of the program, the mission, vision, and core
values of the Wonadem UBA Foundation were presented to the gathering,
highlighting the Foundation’s dedication to humanitarian service, education,
youth development, and community transformation.
Addressing the gathering, representatives of the
Foundation explained the purpose of the donation and emphasized the importance
of sports in nurturing leadership, discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence
among students. The donation was made on behalf of the Founder and Chief
Executive Officer of WUBAF, Mr. Edem Edem Michael Forgive UBA Akpeleasi (Sir
UBA), whose vision continues to inspire initiatives that positively impact
communities across Ghana.
The official presentation of the jerseys and footballs
was conducted through the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), Madam Mary
Ama Entwi, together with the Chiefs and elders of the community. The items were
formally received on behalf of the school amid appreciation and excitement from
students, teachers, and community leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the school, Madam Mary Ama Entwi
expressed heartfelt gratitude to WUBAF for the generous support and assured the
Foundation that the donated items would be properly utilized to enhance
sporting activities and support the school’s participation in competitions.
The Headmaster, Mr. Ernest Nah, also expressed
appreciation to the Foundation and commended the gesture as a meaningful
investment in the development of students. He encouraged individuals and
organizations to emulate such acts of generosity in support of education and
community development.
The Chiefs and elders present equally thanked WUBAF
for remembering the school and community. They encouraged students to take good
care of the donated items and reminded them of the importance of balancing
academic excellence with participation in sports, noting that sports continue
to provide valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In her closing remarks, the Chairperson for the
occasion, Madam Charity Dzah, encouraged students to remain disciplined,
respectful, and hardworking. She emphasized the importance of education, good
character, and perseverance while expressing appreciation to the Foundation for
choosing Akrofu Agorve M.A. Junior High School as a beneficiary of its support.
The program concluded successfully with a vote of
thanks from the School Prefect, Miss Angel Kpah, followed by a closing prayer.
A group photograph was subsequently taken to capture the memorable occasion,
bringing together students, teachers, community leaders, guests, and members of
the WUBAF delegation.
Following the event, members of the Foundation
interacted with school authorities and community representatives before
departing for Ho. The delegation expressed gratitude to God for His guidance
and protection throughout the outreach and extended appreciation to the
Founder, leadership, and members of WUBAF for the opportunity to represent the
Foundation and carry out its mission of service.
This donation serves as another testament to the
Wonadem UBA Foundation’s unwavering commitment to empowering young people,
supporting education, promoting sports development, and strengthening
relationships with communities across Ghana.
Through acts of compassion, generosity, and practical
support, WUBAF continues to create opportunities, inspire hope, and contribute
to the growth and development of future generations.
