WUBAF Stands with the Atorkor ...

The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) joined family members, friends, mourners, and sympathizers on Saturday, 8th August 2026, at Akatsi-Atorkorkorfe to pay its last respects to Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor, the beloved father of Mr. Saviour Atorkor, a valued member of the Foundation.

WUBAF’s presence at the funeral reflected the Foundation’s strong commitment to standing with its members and their families not only in moments of celebration but also during times of grief and bereavement. This commitment is deeply rooted in the Foundation’s guiding principle:

“We Love, We Care, We Comfort.”

WUBAF members began arriving at the funeral grounds as early as 7:00 a.m., with additional members joining the gathering until approximately 11:00 a.m.

The church service commenced at about 9:00 a.m. and was marked by solemn prayers, heartfelt tributes, music, Scripture readings, and reflections on the life and legacy of the deceased.

A special moment was observed for family members, friends, and well-wishers to pay their last respects to Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor. Invited guests were also introduced before the reading of Scripture set the tone for the rest of the service.

One of the significant moments of the service was the reading of the biography of Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor by representatives of the family.

The biography reflected on the various stages of his life and highlighted the values, relationships, family bonds, and legacy he leaves behind. His life story brought together his wife, children, in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the church, and other loved ones who gathered to honor his memory.

The WUBAF Brass Band led the offertory with a solemn and melodious ministration, contributing to the reverent atmosphere of the funeral service.

A powerful sermon was subsequently delivered by the church pastor, followed by a special prayer for the bereaved family and everyone mourning the loss.

In honor of their colleague, WUBAF was called upon to perform during the service. Members responded with a heartfelt presentation, demonstrating their love, unity, and solidarity with Mr. Saviour Atorkor and his family during the difficult period.

The church service officially concluded at exactly 1:20 p.m.

Following the church service, WUBAF members joined other mourners for refreshments and fellowship. The gathering provided an opportunity for members, family, friends, and sympathizers to interact, share memories, and strengthen bonds of unity and mutual support.

As part of the day's activities, the Wonadem UBA Foundation led a Borborbor performance, adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the funeral gathering. The performance served as a cultural tribute to the departed while creating a moment of togetherness and celebration of his life.

The day's activities officially came to an end at 4:20 p.m. with a final prayer led by Love Afanu, after which WUBAF members, family, and other guests departed.

The presence and active participation of WUBAF at the funeral demonstrated the Foundation's unwavering commitment to its members and their families.

Beyond its humanitarian, developmental, educational, and community-support initiatives, WUBAF recognizes the importance of being present for its members during significant moments in their lives—including times of bereavement.

Through its presence, participation, performance, and fellowship, the Foundation reaffirmed that no member should have to face difficult moments alone.
