The Wonadem UBA
Foundation (WUBAF), through its Aflao-Sogakorpe Zone, has once again
demonstrated its dedication to education, youth empowerment, and community
development by donating sports equipment to Nyravase Community School at
Anlo-AfiaƉenyigba in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The donation exercise took place on Thursday, 14th May
2026, as part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support schools and
encourage active participation in sports and extracurricular activities among
students.
The items presented included football jerseys and
footballs donated on behalf of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
WUBAF to support sporting activities within the school and motivate students to
actively engage in sports development.
Members of the Aflao-Sogakorpe Zone who participated
in the outreach included:
Before proceeding to the school, the team first
gathered at the residence of Mr. Joseph Wordu from 9:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. to
prepare for the official presentation ceremony.
Upon arrival at the school premises, the delegation
received a warm welcome from teachers and staff members. Although the school
had already been informed about the visit, the purpose of the donation was
officially communicated to both the school authorities and students.
The delegation was informed about the absence of the
School Director, Mr. Redeemer Yeborwo. However, the Head Teacher (Academics),
Mr. Michael Amenuvor, Assistant Head Teacher (Finance), Mr. Solomon Atsu
Agbeworvi, and other staff members were present to receive the team.
Also present during the ceremony was the Assembly
Member for the Nyravase Tengekorpe Electoral Area and former Head Teacher of
the school from 2000 to 2004, Mr. Raphael Seth Borklo, alongside Mr. Saviour
Ahiataku, Mr. Bernard Yeborwo, and Mr. Anthony Wordu. These dignitaries were
introduced to the WUBAF delegation by the PTA Chairman, Mr. Joseph Kofi Wordu.
The students of Nyravase Community School warmly
welcomed the WUBAF team with a beautiful poetry recitation led by Miss Shiela
Abielekpor, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement, appreciation, and
joy.
The official presentation of the sports equipment was
carried out by Miss Love Afanou, who emphasized the importance of supporting
young people through sports and explained the motivation behind the
Foundation’s donation initiative.
The presentation ceremony was successfully completed
amid enthusiasm and gratitude from both students and teachers, after which
photographs were taken to commemorate the memorable occasion.
During interactions with the delegation, teachers of
the school expressed profound appreciation to WUBAF for remembering and
supporting the school community. They also recalled a previous outreach and
support program organized by the Foundation in the community in 2021, which
they described as impactful and unforgettable.
The teachers further expressed their desire to see
more outreach activities organized within the community and also showed
interest in becoming part of the Foundation due to its humanitarian and
developmental activities.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the delegation
also took the opportunity to educate the gathering on the vision, mission, and
activities of WUBAF, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to transforming
lives and supporting communities across Ghana.
Following the successful presentation ceremony, the
team returned to the residence of Mr. Joseph Wordu, where lunch and dessert
were served in an atmosphere of unity, fellowship, and appreciation.
The outreach exercise ended successfully, and all
participating members returned home safely.
The donation to Nyravase Community School serves as
another reflection of the commitment of WUBAF towards promoting education,
youth development, sports empowerment, and community support across Ghana.
Through impactful initiatives and humanitarian
service, WUBAF continues to extend love, hope, and practical support to
communities while empowering the next generation for a brighter future.
