WUBAF Celebrates Love at Serwaa Makafui’s Wedding to Stanley Defia

Dansoman, Accra — August 8, 2026: Love, joy, unity, and celebration filled the atmosphere at Exhibition Assemblies of God Church, Dansoman, as members of the Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) joined family and friends to celebrate the wedding of their dear sister, Serwaa Makafui, who was joined in holy matrimony with Stanley Defia.

The beautiful ceremony brought together loved ones and well-wishers to witness the couple begin a new chapter of their lives together.

WUBAF members arrived early at the church, with the first six members arriving as early as 10:20 AM to prepare and welcome the other members.

At 12:00 PM, the church service commenced with heartfelt song ministration and praise led by the host church. At approximately 12:30 PM, attention turned to the entrance of the beautiful bride, as Serwaa Makafui was ushered into the auditorium to meet her groom.

Rev. Emmanuel, one of the pastors of the host church, delivered an inspiring sermon lasting approximately 10 minutes before inviting the couple forward.

The Senior Pastor subsequently officiated the marriage ceremony, guiding the couple through the sacred exchange of vows and the signing of their marriage certificate.

Following the signing, the congregation showed their love and support through a special offering dedicated to the newly married couple as they embarked on their journey together.

The newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Defia later returned to the congregation for their first dance, surrounded by songs of praise, prayers, and heartfelt wishes.

Various pastors present also committed the marriage into the hands of God, praying for God's guidance, protection, peace, and blessings upon the couple.

The church service concluded at approximately 1:40 PM with a closing prayer and benediction. This was followed by a memorable photo session, during which WUBAF members proudly joined the couple and their families to capture beautiful memories.

The reception followed shortly after the church service on the same premises.

The celebration began with a musical interlude as the bridal party, consisting of bridesmaids and groomsmen, made a grand dance entrance, followed by the radiant newlyweds.

Sis. Deborah Adjei opened the reception with a prayer, after which the chairperson introduced the couple and delivered an acceptance speech.

Guests were subsequently treated to an entertaining couple's game involving the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Music, laughter, refreshments, and fellowship added to the joyful atmosphere.

One of the major highlights of the reception was a vibrant Borborbor performance by WUBAF.

The Foundation was given approximately 10 minutes to showcase the rich Ewe cultural dance, and members performed with enthusiasm, energy, and pride.

The performance created an exciting atmosphere among the guests and provided a beautiful opportunity for WUBAF to celebrate and promote Ewe culture.

Although a second performance was unfortunately cut short due to an issue involving the drummer, the spirit of celebration remained high, with guests continuing to enjoy the occasion until their departure a few minutes before 5:00 PM.

In a further demonstration of the Foundation's values of love, care, and support, Mr. Edward Fiawoyife generously contributed an undisclosed amount of money towards the payment of the trumpeter.

The gesture reflected the spirit of collective responsibility and support that continues to strengthen the WUBAF family.

The Accra Zone Zonal Overseer, Mr. Seth Kwaku Besah, also took responsibility for transportation from Botwe to Dansoman, ensuring that members could travel conveniently to support their colleague on her special day.

In addition, Mr. Marcus Golomeke volunteered his vehicle to transport the drums back to Botwe, while Mr. Elikem Dravie assisted with packing and ensured that all items were safely returned.

These acts of service demonstrated once again that WUBAF is not only a Foundation but a family that stands together during important moments in the lives of its members.

A total of 18 WUBAF members and 4 children were present to support Serwaa Makafui and her husband on their special day.

The Foundation expresses gratitude to God for granting everyone journey mercies and ensuring that all members returned home safely after the celebration.

WUBAF also extends special appreciation to its Founder & CEO, SIR UBA, for his continuous prayers and concern for the safety and well-being of members before, during, and after every Foundation event.

The Wonadem UBA Foundation warmly congratulates Serwaa Makafui and Stanley Defia on their marriage.

As they begin this beautiful journey together, WUBAF prays that God will establish their home, fill it with love, peace, understanding, happiness, and laughter, and guide them through every season of their lives.

May their marriage become a testimony of God's goodness and a reflection of the love and values upon which their home is built.

Once again, congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Defia! ❤️💍
