Date: Tuesday, 24th March, 2026

Location: Mampong Shai D/A Basic School, Shai Hills

Empowering Communities Through Education

The Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) continues to make meaningful strides in community development with the successful organization of its 2026@6 Mini Outreach at Mampong Shai D/A Basic School in Shai Hills.

This outreach formed part of WUBAF’s ongoing commitment to promoting quality education, supporting underserved communities, and fostering strong community relationships. A major highlight of the event was the official handover of the first phase of the school’s renovation project, particularly the Kindergarten (KG) block—an initiative aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions for both pupils and staff.

The program brought together WUBAF members from various zones, school authorities, community leaders, and students, creating a vibrant and impactful gathering.

A Warm Welcome and Celebration of Leadership

The event commenced at 11:00 AM, with a warm welcome from the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Love Afanou, who set a positive and inspiring tone for the day.

She introduced dignitaries, highlighted the purpose of the outreach, and reaffirmed the Foundation’s guiding principle:

“We Love, We Care, We Comfort.”

In a special moment, the outreach also coincided with the celebration of the Founder and CEO of WUBAF, where members and participants joyfully sang a birthday song in his honor, adding a heartfelt touch to the occasion.

Gratitude from the School Community

Representatives from the school, including staff and PTA members, expressed profound appreciation to WUBAF for taking the initiative to complete a renovation project that had long been left unfinished.

They emphasized how the improved infrastructure would significantly enhance the learning environment and encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Inspiring Words from Leadership

The donor’s address was delivered by Prof. Seyram Kawor, who inspired students with a powerful message on the importance of education, discipline, and perseverance.

He further called on key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to collaborate with WUBAF to ensure the sustainability and collective ownership of such impactful projects.

Celebrating Talent: Cultural and Spoken Word Performances

One of the most memorable highlights of the outreach was the students’ cultural display, featuring vibrant performances and a moving poetry recital by Ivanna Woelly Akplor.

The performances showcased the creativity, confidence, and talent of the students, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience and adding energy and excitement to the program.

Official Handover of Renovated Facilities

The symbolic unveiling and handover ceremony was led by Prof. Seyram Kawor, alongside WUBAF executives, school authorities, and community leaders.

This moment marked a significant milestone in WUBAF’s mission to support education and improve school infrastructure, reinforcing its commitment to long-term community impact.

Recognition and Appreciation

During the appreciation segment, the Headmaster, invited guests, and parents expressed sincere gratitude to WUBAF for fulfilling a promise that many others had previously made but could not deliver.

This acknowledgment highlighted the Foundation’s credibility, dedication, and genuine commitment to service.

Capturing the Moment and Exploring the Impact

The WUBAF Media Team documented the event through photography and live streaming on Facebook, ensuring that supporters who could not attend were still part of the experience.

Participants also embarked on a guided tour of the school facilities, allowing members to witness firsthand the impact of their contributions and identify areas for future support.

Fellowship and Refreshments

The outreach also featured a refreshment session organized by the WUBAF Catering Department, fostering unity, interaction, and celebration among members, students, and guests.

Closing with Responsibility

The program concluded at 1:00 PM with a clean-up exercise, reflecting WUBAF’s values of responsibility, discipline, and respect for the environment.

Impact of the Outreach

The outreach achieved several meaningful outcomes:

  • Successful handover of the first phase of the school renovation project
  • Strengthened relationship between WUBAF and the Mampong Shai community
  • Boosted morale among students and teachers
  • Promoted education and community engagement
  • Reinforced WUBAF’s mission of service and humanity
