Rain Could Not Stop Progress: Lolito Community Celebrates New KG Block with WUBAF Support

Lolito, South Tongu District — 17th June 2026

A day that began with unexpected rainfall ended as a powerful testament to resilience, collaboration, and commitment to education as the Lolito Community School celebrated the commissioning and official handing-over of its newly constructed Kindergarten (KG) block.

The milestone event brought together community leaders, education stakeholders, and members of the Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF), Sogakope Zone, all united by a common goal of advancing early childhood education and creating a brighter future for children within the community.

Representing WUBAF at the ceremony were Mr. Desmond Ati, Mr. MacRobert Dogbey, Mr. Samory Gbadago, Mr. Edward Kaledzi, Ms. Abigail Maku Lawoe, Ms. Dora Keteni, Ms. Esther Agbengu, and Ms. Patience Klenam Yormekpe, whose presence demonstrated the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to community development.

Although a heavy downpour interrupted the planned outdoor activities, the determination of the organizers and participants ensured that the celebration continued smoothly. The program was promptly moved into one of the classrooms, reflecting the spirit of perseverance and the community’s dedication to making the occasion a success.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for South Tongu, whose attendance highlighted the significance of the project to the district’s educational development. Though she had to depart early due to another official engagement, her participation underscored the importance of partnerships in driving meaningful community progress.

One of the key moments of the event was the recognition of WUBAF’s consistent contributions towards community development. As a demonstration of its continued support for education, the Foundation donated an amount of GH₵1,000.00 to the school to assist in its activities and growth. The gesture was warmly appreciated by the school authorities, pupils, and the entire Lolito community.

In an additional act of generosity, Mr. Samory Gbadago pledged to donate a football and a volleyball to promote sports and recreational activities among the pupils, recognising the importance of holistic child development.

The event also provided an opportunity for WUBAF to introduce its upcoming Mega Outreach Programme scheduled for December 2026, reaffirming the Foundation’s long-term vision of empowering communities and making sustainable impacts across society.

Following the indoor session, participants moved to the newly completed KG block for the official commissioning and handing-over ceremony. The modern facility, now entrusted to the care of the school and the Lolito community, represents more than just a building—it stands as a symbol of unity, hope, and the collective effort to improve access to quality early childhood education.

The programme concluded with a networking and refreshment session generously hosted by Sir UBA, creating an atmosphere of fellowship, appreciation, and strengthened relationships among all stakeholders.

Despite the challenges posed by the weather, the day’s success remained unquestionable. The new KG block serves as a lasting reminder that when communities, organisations, and individuals work together with a shared purpose, obstacles can be overcome and meaningful progress can be achieved.

WUBAF remains committed to its mission of promoting education, youth empowerment, and community development, and looks forward to continuing its journey of transforming lives and building stronger communities.
