WONADEM UBA FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT FUND

To begin with, we would first like to outline the aims and objectives of WUBAF.

What are the aims and objectives of WONADEM UBA FOUNDATION? 

Article 7 of the Wonadem UBA Foundation Constitution:

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

Within the framework of the foregoing, the Foundation shall have the following principal objectives:

It is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-denominational and non-profit oriented

To cater for the poor, the orphans, drug addicts, aged and widows in GHANA and other parts of the world.

To provide true leaderships skill to the youth.

To initiate, encourage and empower the youth in the community to participate (implementation) in laudable (liable) economic projects leading to development.

To provide expertise training, counselling services, home based care and encourage creating of income generating projects.

To ensure true love exist in the community which can do away with negativity (negativity does not support community development).

 To seek support by carrying out fund-raising internally and externally for the implementation of the aims and objectives of the Foundation.

 To identify and assist in setting up economic activities for people with disabilities in the community.

To encourage the youth to learn new and modern technology skills in ICT.

 To encourage its members to explore modern methods in farming like, green house, fish farming and new variety of crops as opposed to traditional ones.

 To lobby on behalf of the beneficiaries of their initiatives to the authority’s recognition and attention.

To ensure all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment.

It is with these aims that the foundation has thought it wise to establish an endowment fund.

  An endowment is established through a donation that includes a legal requirement that the initial contribution remains intact indefinitely. These donations are preserved and invested by Wonadem UBA Foundation (the Foundation), a philanthropic charity foundation and an officially licensed by NGO Office in Ghana and by the Register of Companies. The aim is to create a continual source of spendable income from the returns on the donation for the purpose specified by the donor.

What is a fund?

A fund is a pool of money collected from various sources, such as investors, organizations, or governments, to achieve a specific financial goal or objective. Funds can be used for various purposes, including:

1. Investing in assets (e.g., stocks, bonds, real estate)

2. Supporting projects or initiatives

3. Providing financial assistance or aid

4. Managing risk or liabilities

How does endowment fund help achieve these aims and objectives?

The Wonadem UBA Foundation’s aims and objectives revolve around supporting vulnerable groups, including the poor, orphans, drug addicts, aged, and widows, while promoting community development through various initiatives.

Key Objectives:

Social Welfare:  Catering to the needs of the poor, orphans, drug addicts, aged, and widows globally

Youth Empowerment:  Providing leadership skills, expertise training, and encouraging participation in economic projects

Community Development:  Fostering true love, eliminating negativity, and promoting income-generating projects

Education and Technology:  Encouraging modern technology skills in ICT and exploring new farming methods

Inclusive Support:  Identifying and assisting people with disabilities in setting up economic activities

An endowment fund can significantly contribute to fulfilling these objectives by:

Providing Sustainable Funding:  Generating annual returns that can be used to support the foundation’s initiatives

Supporting Long-term Projects: Enabling the foundation to plan and implement projects that yield benefits over an extended period

Enhancing Financial Stability: Allowing the foundation to weather financial uncertainties and maintain its operations

Increasing Impact: Empowering the foundation to expand its reach and make a more substantial difference in the lives of its beneficiaries

By establishing an endowment fund, the Wonadem UBA Foundation can ensure a steady stream of funding for its programs, ultimately enhancing its ability to achieve its mission and objectives.

Key characteristics of endowment funds include; 

Permanent Capital : The principal amount is preserved and not spent, ensuring the fund’s long-term sustainability.

Investment income:  The fund generates income through investments, which is used to support the designated purpose or institution.

Spending rules: Many endowments have rules governing how much of the investment income can be spent each year, ensuring the fund’s principal remains intact.

Endowment funds can support various purposes, such as 

Scholarships: Providing financial assistance to students.

Research:  Funding research initiatives or projects.

Program support: Supporting specific programs or services within an organization.

Capital projects: Funding construction, renovations, or equipment purchases.

Endowment funds offer benefits, including

Long-term sustainability: Providing a stable source of funding for the supported purpose or institution.

Financial stability: Helping organizations weather financial challenges or fluctuations.

Flexibility:  Allowing organizations to respond to changing needs or opportunities.

Examples of endowment funds include university endowments, foundation endowments, and charitable endowments 

CATEGORIES FOR WONADEM UBA FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT FUND

These are the various categories for individual donors and  groups to choose from,

Luminaria: Representing illumination and guidance, and donors in this category contribute a significant amount ( GHS10,000.00+).

Pillar: Symbolizing strength and stability, donors in this category contribute a substantial amount  (GHS5,000.00-GHS9,999.00).

Bloom: Representing growth and flourishing, and donors in this category contribute a notable amount (GHS1,000.00-GHS4,999.00).

Spark: Embodying energy and inspiration, donors in this category contribute a meaningful amount (GHS500.00-GHS999.00)

Ripple: Signifying the impact of small actions, donors in this category contribute a modest amount (GHS 50.00-GHS499.00

 Yes, a member can choose as many categories depending on his or her capacity. 

It’s a one-time payment with a grace period of one year.

A member can choose to split or spread the amount for a period of a year

This is because we have a target, which is a minimum of Ghc 100,000.00

There is a chance for a family or companies to also donate for this course. As a result, we encourage individuals, groups, companies, etc, to come on board to donate to help with this vision.

We are looking at a maximum of Ghc 1,000,000,000.00 and above to be able to carry out our vision.

The seed money won’t be used. It remains intact. We will only use the profits for all our outlined objectives.

The seed money will be invested for a period of 3 years.

The seed money won’t be used forever. We will grow the seed money and use only the profits. If the angels direct God’s servant (SIR UBA) then we can use part.

Individual can still donate after the lunch and the period of the year. Our doors are always open for those who want to be a blessing to others. 

CLARIFICATION ON ENDOWMENT FUND

We would like to take a moment to clarify the purpose and nature of our Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund is a permanent fund established to support the long-term sustainability and growth of our foundation. It is a lifetime gift that provides a lasting legacy for our organization, enabling us to pursue our mission and vision for years to come.

Key Characteristics:

Irreversible donation: Contributions to the Endowment Fund are irreversible and cannot be withdrawn.

Long-term focus: The fund is invested to generate returns that support the foundation’s ongoing activities and initiatives.

No direct benefits: Donors should not expect direct benefits or returns on their contributions. 

By contributing to our Endowment Fund, donors are making a significant and lasting impact on our organization’s ability to achieve its goals. We encourage members to consider supporting our Endowment Fund as a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy.

We need to understand that the fund for now is not for the benefit of individuals but rather for the foundation goals which may benefit individuals indirectly

No amount Is small or big. Please choose what works for you and be diligent in making the payments. The universe will do the rest. It’s a seed we are sowing for generations to come.

We know the benefits of making sacrifices. Let’s do we to be part and write our names on the wall of honor. Let’s donate big since no amount is big or small. Select the category that suits you and that will make you comfortable with no stress. 

Promising or pledging is a vow we make. Once it’s made, you need to fulfill it. The consequences are dire if we fail. Let’s think and plan towards it. The love the care the comfort we have will grow.

SOME BENEFITS DONORS WILL INCLUDES;

Companies products may be advertised on our social media handles.

Every donor will have their names on the Wall of Honor, a donor appreciation letters will also be received by every donor.

MODE OF PAYMENT 

We shall use Momo, bank account, the website and online crowd funding and cash as means of donating. Members can also suggest best ways of doing it. All ideas on board.

We should kindly take note this donation is not for only members of WONADEM UBA FOUNDATION. Anyone who is touched to be blessing to someone.

 Every signature project shall be properly planned and the source of funds shall be identified. We won’t just start a signature project using the little funds we have. Rome wasn’t built in a day. We shall plan everything and get them done at a time. 

 If a community through the chief want to donate we shall agree with the name their chief will present to us to be used. Since the chief is the leader and do what they agree on.

It’s like a group making the donation or a family making the donation. We will use the name they give us.

We are encouraging each and everyone to fully participate in this donation to be a blessing to the world. We should not forget the important of sacrifices especially when it is done with intention and to the right people or to the right course. We may not have a direct benefits or physical benefits but the spiritual blessings are uncountable. We should also not forget that your family member or generations can even benefits from this projects one day. Which legacy are you leaving for your children’s children? Wonadem UBA foundation has come to stay and will be a blessing to many if not the whole world .
