Empowering Communities, Restoring Hope: The 6-Year Journey of Wonadem UBA Foundation

On February 21, 2026, Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF) proudly marks six impactful years of transforming lives, empowering communities, and spreading hope across Ghana.

Founded in 2020 by Edem Edem Michael Forgive UBA Akpeleasi, popularly known as Sir UBA, the Foundation was built on a passion for service that began long before its official establishment. As far back as 2012, while serving as a teacher in Kedjebi in the Volta Region of Ghana, Sir UBA used his personal resources to support underprivileged pupils—laying the foundation for what would later grow into a nationally recognized humanitarian movement.

A Mission Rooted in Compassion

Wonadem UBA Foundation is a non-profit, non-denominational, and non-governmental organization committed to supporting the poor, orphans, widows, the aged, and individuals struggling with drug addiction in Ghana and beyond.

The Foundation focuses on four key pillars:

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Livelihood Empowerment
  • Community Development

Through these focus areas, WUBAF has consistently organized outreach programs, provided medical assistance, paid school fees for needy students, and offered skill training opportunities for youth and women.

From Lolito to the Nation: Expanding Impact

Since its inception, WUBAF has organized both mini and mega outreaches in several communities across Ghana. The Foundation’s first Mega Outreach was held in 2021 in Lolito, the head office community of the Foundation.

Over the years, communities that have benefited include:

  • Anlo-Afiadenyigba
  • Weta-Adidome
  • Sunyani Yamfo
  • Dzokplenu
  • Logba Alakpeti
  • Breman Asabiem

In 2022, WUBAF donated textbooks, jerseys, and footballs to Lolito Primary School and Nyinuto J.H.S., strengthening educational support for young learners. The Foundation also extended love to widows in Esereso Odumase in the Bono Region by providing essential food items.

These initiatives demonstrate a consistent commitment to practical, people-centered support.

2025 Founder’s Birthday Mini Outreach: Spreading Care Across Regions

On March 24, 2025, WUBAF organized a special mini outreach to commemorate the birthday of its Founder and CEO, Sir UBA. Rather than celebrating privately, the Foundation turned the occasion into a nationwide act of generosity.

At the zonal level, members donated to hospitals in their respective localities, including:

  • Lekma Hospital – Accra Teshie
  • Koforidua Polyclinic
  • Dabala Clinic
  • Jasikan District Hospital
  • Effia Nkwanta – Sekondi
  • Sunyani Municipal Hospital
  • Ketu South Municipal Hospital
  • Ho Municipal Hospital

This initiative reflected the Foundation’s belief that leadership is best celebrated through service.

Breman Asabiem Mega Outreach: Love in Action

The end-of-year Mega Outreach in Breman Asabiem, located in the Central Region of Ghana, was another powerful demonstration of WUBAF’s mission in action.

During the Durbar celebration:

  • Educational materials, clothing, shoes, and sanitary pads were distributed.
  • Foundation members dined with community members to foster unity and shared joy.
  • A total of GHS 11,112 was raised to support the community center project.

Community members shared heartfelt testimonies about the positive impact Sir UBA has made in their lives. Some fondly recalled songs he taught them—reminders that true leadership leaves both practical and emotional footprints.

6 Years of Love, Care, and Comfort

As WUBAF celebrates its 6th anniversary under the theme “6 Years of Love, Care, and Comfort,” the Foundation’s journey stands as a testament to what vision, sacrifice, and collective effort can achieve.

To mark this milestone, WUBAF has launched the 6GHS Project, an initiative aimed at raising funds to support Mampong D/A Basic School at Shai Hills in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The project calls on supporters and well-wishers to contribute just 6 Ghana Cedis or more to help improve educational infrastructure and learning conditions for students.

A Vision for the Future

The Foundation envisions a world filled with genuine love and kindness—free from discrimination—where resources and basic needs are distributed fairly and equitably.

Six years of impact is not just a celebration of time passed, but a celebration of lives touched, dreams restored, and communities strengthened.

As Wonadem UBA Foundation continues its journey, one thing remains constant:

We Love. We Care. We Comfort.

Long live Sir UBA Empire.
Long live Wonadem UBA Foundation.
