Mafi Adakpo, Volta Region - 20th June 2026
True family is revealed not only in moments of
celebration but also in times of sorrow. Living out its unwavering commitment
to love, compassion, and togetherness, the Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF)
mobilized a strong delegation to Mafi Adakpo in the Volta Region to stand
beside one of its members, Mr. Maxwell Aho, during the funeral of his
beloved mother, the late Madam Grace Aho.
WUBAF was represented by 32 members drawn from
eight zones, demonstrating the Foundation's dedication to supporting its
members during life's most difficult moments. Although 39 members had
initially confirmed attendance, seven were unable to participate due to
circumstances beyond their control. Two toddlers also accompanied members,
reflecting the family-oriented culture that continues to define WUBAF.
Members arrived in Mafi Adakpo between Thursday,
18th June and Sunday, 21st June 2026, with every delegate traveling safely
and arriving as scheduled. The successful coordination of transportation and
logistics resulted in a smooth event with no travel or safety incidents.
Preparations for the funeral began early, with Mr.
and Mrs. Zormelo assisting the bereaved family before the arrival of the
rest of the delegation. Although the church service was delayed from 9:00
a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to accommodate traditional rites by the Agei
Association, the extra time was productively used as members rehearsed and
shared breakfast generously provided by the host family.
Throughout the church service, WUBAF members actively
participated through singing, worship, and other expressions of support,
reflecting the Foundation's spirit of togetherness.
During the programme, the Foundation's Public
Relations Officer, Ms. Love Afanou, introduced WUBAF to the congregation,
sharing its vision of promoting love, unity, compassion, and community service.
Her presentation highlighted the Foundation's ongoing commitment to making a
positive impact within communities while supporting its members through every
stage of life.
One of the most memorable moments of the day came
during the sermon when language interpretation became difficult. Rising to the
occasion, Mr. Desmond K. Ati provided seamless interpretation, ensuring
that the message remained accessible to everyone present.
His calm leadership and timely intervention earned
admiration from both the church leadership and attendees, further demonstrating
the depth of talent, commitment, and servant leadership within WUBAF.
Following the church service, members gathered at a
nearby school where the WUBAF Catering Department served a delicious
meal. The lunch session also created an opportunity for fellowship, networking,
and strengthening relationships among members under the coordination of Ms.
Love Afanou.
In another touching display of solidarity,
representatives from the Ho Zone presented a voluntary cash donation to Mr.
Maxwell Aho to support funeral-related expenses. Deeply moved by the
gesture, Mr. Aho expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Founder and Chief
Executive Officer as well as the entire WUBAF family for their unwavering love
and support. As a token of appreciation, he generously provided refreshments
for all members present.
The official programme concluded with a closing prayer
at 3:15 p.m., after which members departed safely for their various
destinations. Mr. Saviour Gokah was the last delegate to arrive home
safely on Saturday evening, while Mr. and Mrs. Zormelo remained behind
to assist the family with final pack-up activities before returning home safely
on Sunday.
The success of the delegation reflected careful
planning, discipline, teamwork, and the dedication of every participating
member.
Beyond paying their final respects, WUBAF's presence
at the funeral demonstrated the Foundation's enduring values of compassion,
service, unity, discipline, and genuine care for one another. The
professionalism displayed by members, the exceptional work of the Catering
Department, and the selfless leadership exhibited throughout the event all
reinforced WUBAF's mission of building a supportive and united family.
The Office of the General Organizers extended sincere
appreciation to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for his continuous
prayers, guidance, and unwavering support, which greatly contributed to the
success and safety of the delegation. The office also commended all 32
members who sacrificed their time and resources to represent the Foundation
with honour and distinction.
At Wonadem UBA Foundation, support goes beyond
words—it is demonstrated through action. Whether in moments of celebration or
seasons of grief, WUBAF continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with its
members, proving that it is more than an organization. It is a family united by
love, care, compassion, and service.
We Love. We Care. We Comfort.
